About

Stamped decoration panel and gilded fish. Signed “R. CAPRON” at the bottom left. Collaboration with Jean Derval, reference TC 12 in the Roger Capron archives. A certificate from Mrs. Jacotte Capron dated July 3, 2020 will be provided to the purchaser.

Ms. Jacotte Capron (wife of Roger Capron), kindly provided us with the following information: «The decor was previously designed on paper. We placed a sheet of lead (2 to 3 mm thick) on a pre-cut medium support on which the edges of the sheet were then folded. The decoration was executed using punches of different shapes and the gold parts were gilded with gold leaf. Our collaborator and friend, Jean Derval, a well-known ceramist, frequently participated in this type of decorations from tables we had made for the Hotel Byblos in Saint-Tropez. This goes back to 1968 until 1970.»
